(11a/100) SYDNEY FOOD

Weekends in Sydney were spent in cafes, on the beach and in the kitchen ⛱

An early coffee from @flatwhitecafe in Woollahra before completing the beautiful Bondi to Bronte coastal walk. Then brunch at the original @billsaustralia in Darlinghurst for his famous scrambled eggs or ricotta hotcakes - with a bloody mary or a couple of proseccos - of course it was an already an all-day “brunching” menu in 2005.

Benefits of the coastal lifestyle often meant lunching with friends over a big bucket of fresh prawns and a glass or two of @shawandsmith Sauvignon Blanc overlooking the harbour at @cafesydney (we actually got married here too!)

Other favourite places and dishes included:

🥬 amazing take away salads from @yellowsydney (before Ottolenghi hit Australia and a big inspo for Daisy)

pea, mint and air-dried ricotta salad with fresh fish and @birdinhand rose @icebergsdiningroomandbar (best view in Bondi)

Vietnamese rice paper rolls, beef la lot (betel leaves) and prawn and papaya salad from Phamish Vietnamese café in Surry Hills (casual but bursting Asian flavours and super fresh produce, really special)

Sean’s Panorama for long long tasting menus from the changing blackboard overlooking Bondi

excellent Japanese @tokosydney and sushi from Sushi E @ The Establishment

️ that unforgettable snow egg from @quayrestaurant (praying for its return to the menu with fingers crossed)

So many great memories and food inspiration for Daisy came from my time in Sydney.

Next.... we’re off to London 🇬🇧 and that fateful day I bought an ice cream van off eBay.
