THE GREAT PLATE ROBBERY

A one-night-only charity dinner raising funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Prostate Cancer Research

On Thursday 4 June, we’re hosting something a little different at Bondi Green.

The Great Plate Robbery is a one-night-only charity dinner bringing together food, art and a room full of people who want to do something meaningful. A line-up of chefs, artists and collaborators from across London will come together for the evening, alongside live entertainment, an auction and a few moments you won’t quite expect.

It’s a celebration, but it’s also rooted in something more personal.

This year, cancer has touched people close to us. It’s brought everything into sharper focus — a reminder of how quickly things can change, and how important the work of organisations like The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity really is.

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre which sees over 66,000 patients each year, while also driving forward groundbreaking research to develop life-saving treatments for patients across the UK and around the world. What makes it distinct is the way research and care sit side by side. Patients benefit from some of the most advanced therapies available, while potentially also contributing to the development of new ones, from precision medicine to immunotherapy and clinical trials.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity plays a vital role in making that possible, funding everything from specialist teams to pioneering research and equipment.

It’s the kind of work that can feel distant until it isn’t. Until it becomes personal.

That’s where this event begins.

The Great Plate Robbery isn’t just about one night. It’s about bringing together creativity and community in a way that can have a lasting impact.

In the lead-up, we’ve been working with a group of artists and collaborators to produce a series of one-off pieces — plates, mugs and even pants — each designed as part of the project. On the night, guests will dine from artist-designed plates, which can then be taken home, with 100% proceeds being split between the two charities.

Beyond the dinner, these pieces will also be available more widely, meaning anyone can support the cause, whether they’re in the room or not.

Alongside ticket sales, there will be opportunities to donate, bid in the auction, or simply contribute in whatever way feels right.

Because ultimately, it’s not just about being there on the night. It’s about what that room represents.

A collective effort to support the people, research and care that continue to change outcomes every day.

And something worth being part of.
