(15/100) Isle of wight - washout roadtrip

Three days of torrential rain and a complete washout was our first @isleofwightfest. We had been looking forward to hearing the likes of @springsteen and @pearljam at the legendary festival.⁣

⁣Instead, I spent two nights sleeping inside our Daisy the Cow mascot costume at the local football ground before being “let in” over ramps placed over the muddy fields (soon to be swamp).⁣ The wash out and travel chaos was even covered by BBC News, and was an early hello for Daisy for what was to be Britain’s wettest summer on record.⁣

⁣Serving froyo in the rain, at the best of times, is a somewhat biblical task (and this was no less), and a good learning step in the feng shui required to be a sane business owner.⁣

⁣To top it all, I had to drive two vans (Pinky and the stock van) simultaneously home as my friend broke and left me after Pinky had to be towed through the trench-like mud of the field, leaving me the last one to leave.⁣

⁣Finally, my beloved “Pinky” Green broke down again after reaching England’s lush shores requiring recovery again by the AA; the second time in weeks.⁣

⁣Still – I felt I had earned my first festival stripes!

⁣Next up: Eat Street.
